Donation Policy

Effective Date: July 28, 2026

Help Me Sprout, Inc. (“Help Me Sprout,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is grateful for the generosity of our donors. Your support enables us to advance our mission of mitigating the long-term risks associated with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by strengthening community as a protective factor across the lifespan.

This Donation Policy explains how donations are accepted, processed, and managed.

1. Tax-Deductible Contributions

Help Me Sprout, Inc. is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Donations made to Help Me Sprout, Inc. are generally tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors are encouraged to consult their tax advisor regarding the deductibility of their contributions.

2. Donation Processing

Online donations are securely processed through Givebutter and its payment processing partners.

Help Me Sprout, Inc. does not collect or store complete credit card or bank account information. Payment information is processed securely in accordance with Givebutter’s security and privacy practices.

3. Use of Donations

Unless otherwise designated by the donor or required by law, all donations are considered unrestricted and may be used where they are needed most to support Help Me Sprout, Inc.’s charitable mission.

Donations may be used to support, among other things:

  • Community education on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

  • Children’s resilience-building programs

  • Educational materials and publications

  • Youth workshops and community events

  • Outreach initiatives

  • Administrative and operational expenses necessary to sustain our programs

  • Future charitable initiatives consistent with our mission

If a donor designates a contribution for a specific program or purpose, Help Me Sprout, Inc. will make every reasonable effort to honor that designation. If the designated program has been completed, discontinued, or no longer requires the funds, the Board of Directors reserves the right to redirect the donation to a closely related charitable purpose that best supports the organization’s mission.

4. Recurring Donations

Donors who choose to make recurring donations authorize the selected donation amount and frequency through Givebutter.

Recurring donations may be modified or canceled at any time through the donor’s Givebutter account or by contacting Help Me Sprout, Inc. for assistance.

5. Donation Receipts

An electronic donation receipt will generally be provided following a successful online donation.

Donors should retain this receipt for their records. Year-end giving summaries may also be available through Givebutter.

6. Refund Policy

Help Me Sprout, Inc. greatly appreciates every contribution. Because donations are used to support our charitable programs and operations, all donations are generally considered final.

If you believe a donation was made in error, was duplicated, or resulted from an unauthorized transaction, please contact us within 30 days of the donation date.

Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Refunds may be granted at the sole discretion of Help Me Sprout, Inc. where appropriate and consistent with applicable law.

7. Donor Privacy

Help Me Sprout, Inc. respects the privacy of our donors.

We do not sell, rent, or trade donor information to third parties.

Information collected during the donation process is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Givebutter’s Privacy Policy.

8. Donor Recognition

With a donor’s permission, Help Me Sprout, Inc. may publicly recognize contributions through annual reports, donor lists, social media, or other acknowledgments.

Donors who wish to remain anonymous may request anonymous recognition at the time of their donation or by contacting us.

9. Securities and Non-Cash Gifts

Help Me Sprout, Inc. may accept non-cash contributions, including in-kind donations, subject to review and acceptance by the organization.

Acceptance of certain non-cash gifts may depend on their usefulness to our mission, associated costs, legal considerations, or other factors.

Please contact us before making a non-cash contribution.

10. Changes to This Policy

Help Me Sprout, Inc. reserves the right to update this Donation Policy at any time.

When changes are made, the Effective Date at the top of this page will be updated.
